The Board was recognized under an Inter-government Agreement that was signed by the Australian, State and Territory governments in March 1994 and reaffirmed in April 2006.
The Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB) is first overseas Evalution body that has recognisation of the Building Standard Law of Japan.
Recognition of the ABCB as an Evaluation Body now made a technical process that will allow direct right to use for products into Japanese markets. The ABCB can make the required testing easy against Building Standard Law of Japan in Australia, eliminating the need for further valuation of products in Japan. This saves cost and time taken in obtaining market access to japan.
