Civil society groups have called on the Governments of Australia and Papua New Guinea to undertake the drivers of deforestation when they argue the Australia-PNG carbon partnership the Joint Ministerial Forum in Madang.

ACF and the PNG Eco-Forestry Forum advised the Australian Government to ban importation of timber and wood products that cannot be separately certified as legally and sustainably sourced and called on PNG to put a stop to logging until a correct forest review can be conducted.
