In an industry first, Gyprock has launched Gyprock EC08 ™, the only Australian- made eco plasterboard to be certified by Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA).
As building practices become more sustainable and the green building market increases rapidly, the need for better performing environmental building products is growing. Gyprock EC08™ has been designed to meet these needs and can contribute to Green Star points through the material properties, acoustic performance or waste minimisation.
Placing high importance on sustainable building practices, the team at Gyprock wanted to develop environmentally friendly plasterboard. The result was Gyprock EC08™ and the new reCore™ technology.
“We are very excited that this project not only resulted in a new product that achieved GECA certification but has also produced new technology that will help lead to further product development,” Commercial Marketing Manager, Rob Ferrari said.
In a world of disposable products and increasing product waste, Gyprock EC08™ is not only produced with the highest level of recyclable content found in our range of fire grade and standard plasterboard, but can also be recycled rather than add
to the growing waste problem – important factors in gaining the GECA certification.
Rob Ferrari believes Gyprock EC08™ is unique in the form of its higher level of recycled content and its ability to meet BCA fire and acoustic requirements.
“With enhanced fire and acoustic properties, Gyprock EC08™ has the equivalent fire and acoustic properties of 13mm Fyrchek™ which can be used in wall and ceiling systems, is fire resistant and beneficial where improved acoustic performance is required,“ Mr Ferrari said.
Manufactured to AS2588 – Gypsum Plasterboard, Gyprock EC08™ is easy to install, light green in colour and available in three dimensions;
1200 x 2700, 1200 x 3000 and 1200 x 3600mm.
Gyprock EC08™ is fully supported by a trained sales team and technical data sheets are available online at www.gyprock.com.au or contact Gyprock on 1300 306 556
