R Control manufacture and supply SIPS (Structural Insulated Panels) for the construction of residences and commercial building. SIPs, first developed by Frank Lloyd Wright over fifty years ago, are used extensively for building as a tightly sealed thermal envelope, providing extremely efficient R Ratings.
Requiring no framing they are engineered to build to three storeys, are earthquake and cyclone resistent, and suited to use in any environment, from Antarctica to desert. Growth has ballooned as legislation for energy efficient new homes has been mandated, in particular in the USA and UK, where government projects are using SIPs extensively to meet affordable housing shortages. LEEDS Platinum, Gold and Silver ratings have been assigned to many SIPs homes and communities and the panels are used extensively in homes achieving Zero Energy status.
SIPs are used to build public eco housing communities, indigenous housing, custom and luxury homes, schools, restaurants and commercial buildings. The reduction in cost of utilities in homes built wtih SIPs is dramatic.
The panels are cut to fit, in factory and flat pack delivered to site. R Control SIPs were used to build the most energy efficient building in the USA and the majority of Top Ten builders there utilise SIPs in their building programs, including Pulte, D R Horton and Scott Homes.
