Armacell Australia's FR/Armaflex is designed to meet stringent fire-performance standards. They used Independent laboratories to assess its fire-hazard properties, ensuring compliance with current legislation which ensures certification is up-to-date and materials comply with changes in legislation.The technical requirements for building design are regulated by reference to the Building Code of Australia. These requirements include the fire-hazard properties of building materials.

The Building Code of Australia (2005) provides a fire specification for fire testing of materials: Specification A2.4 (Fire Hazard Properties). This requires that materials are tested under the standard AS/NZS 1530.3, and meet requirements for indices of both Spread-of-Flame and Smoke-Developed.
