Established in 2002, Australian Ecological Research Services (AERS) provides ecological consultancy services specialising in flora and fauna research and management. Principal Consultant, Dr Matthew Wood has acquired substantial knowledge and experience in flora and fauna surveys and research techniques, and has particular expertise in macropod ecology having completed a PhD researching the ecology and resource partitioning in sympatric populations of Red-necked Wallabies, Black Wallabies and Eastern Grey Kangaroos. Experience has since been obtained through various flora and fauna surveys and wildlife research programs including long-term monitoring of bat activity on wind farms, changes in Koala abundance following population control, assessments of native vegetation quality (Habitat Hectare Assessments) and vegetation mapping using GIS software. Dr Wood is a member of the Australian Mammal Society and Australasian Bat Society.
