At Douglas Partners we maintain a state-of-the-art range of field testing and monitoring equipment to provide the most comprehensive data for environmental engineers. We are the leaders in cone penetration testing (CPT) and sampling technology in Australia and we design, manufacture and service our equipment to international standards. We regularly use:

- the piezocone (CPTU or PCPT) for soft soil engineering and estimation of hydraulic properties the seismic cone (SCPT) for measurement of dynamic shear moduli; and the conductivity cone (CCPT) for tracking contaminant plumes in environmental and groundwater studies.

- the friction cone (CPT) for profiling and soil strength evaluation for foundation and pile design
