The Queensland Bushfood Association is for bushfood enthusiasts and practitioners drawn from a wide range of outdoor eco activities.
Initially the eco group gatherings formed a committee to formalise the purpose and structure of their meetings. This led to the writing of the current Constitution and its acceptance by the delegates in April 2000. This Constitution now guides and underpins the purpose and functioning of the Queensland Bushfood Association .
In the words of the Constitution, the Queensland Bushfood Association exists to "promote the growing, use, understanding and related research and development, of Australian native plant foods in the State."
