The Sustainable Engineering Group (SEG) began in 1999 at Curtin University, to promote sustainable engineering and waste and environmental impact minimisation activities in Western Australia.
We are a core contributor to the Cooperative Research Centre for Sustainable Resource Processing, whose research focus concentrates on the engineering programs to improve efficiency and the sustainability in the mining industry.
The applied research at the Sustainable Engineering Group is focused around four themes:
• eco-efficiency and industrial ecology
• green engineering technology and innovation
• waste management policy and process
• sustainability measurement including the development of sustainability metrics and ongoing life cycle assessment research.
Here we believe that Sustainable Engineering is the future for engineering.
