The Sustainable Homes Program was originally funded for three years through the Victorian State Government's Sustainability Fund and the Councils of Banyule, Darebin and Whittlesea, running workshops, tours and inspiration events in all three Councils from 2007 – 2009.
The Sustainable Homes Program is designed to help residents take action to make their homes, workplaces and communities more sustainable. The program focuses on five key environmental themes of: Energy, Water, Waste, Travel, Biodiversity & Sustainable Gardening.
Hugely popular and successful, a new version of the program called Sustainable Homes and Communities is available for residents of Darebin and Banyule Councils from 2011- 2013.
