When it comes to buying a new one - there are of course, several things that you should consider so you can be sure that what you're getting are energy efficient and eco friendly appliances.

Remember to choose appliances with a high "star" energy rating - the more stars they are - the more energy efficient. This means they will use less energy compared those with less stars.

We also recommend choosing appliances or systems with a programmable timer and thermostat. 

Also, before buying, it is always good to do some research to compare eco appliances online. That way you can see just how energy efficient they are. 

Of course, you should always more sure make sure you buy an appliance that is suitable for your household size and needs. You don't want to be buying a large front load washer when you only really need a medium sized one.
