The Centre for Environmental Management of University of Ballarat has reputable programs in environmental teaching, eco research and consultancy over the past twenty years. Staff contains botanists, zoologists, ecologists, land use planners, soil scientists and geomorphologists.

In the field of remote sensing the Centre of University of Ballarat has a leader, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and computer technology to resource management. Federal State and Local government agencies, and private sector industries recognised the Centre and its personnel through awarding of numerous research and consulatncy contracts.
